The Westwoodside village barn dance, held in July at J & J Fretwell’s farm on Doncaster Road, was once again a huge success! Thanks to everyone’s amazing support, the event raised enough to keep the much-loved Pond Lights glowing for another year. On top of that, J & J Fretwell kindly donated an incredible £2,000 to the Westwoodside Church of England Primary Academy.
Organised by the Westwoodside Pond Lights group together with John, Joanne, and James Fretwell, the biannual dance saw around 400 cowboys and cowgirls dust off their boots for a night of fun. The New Fox Ceilidh Band kept everyone on their feet, with DJ Lenny spinning tunes later in the evening. The Pond Lights bar and a mouth-watering hog roast added to the lively atmosphere.
It was a fantastic night of dancing, laughter, and community spirit — and, best of all, £2,000 will go towards another brilliant PTA project for the school children.
